The Bibobici method

Six phases, in this order, with a measurement that validates every change before it is allowed to stay.

Short answer

The Bibobici method orders the fit into six phases: interview, anatomical assessment, cleats, saddle pressure, 3D kinematics and report. With one rule running through all of them: no adjustment stays if the measured number does not improve.

The order matters

Setting the saddle before the cleats is building the roof before the walls: if you then move the cleat, the knee angle changes and the saddle has to be redone. That is why the method works from the ground up and from the inside out.

From the ground up

The six phases

Phase 01

Personal interview

Injury history, the kilometres you actually ride, where and when the discomfort shows up, and what you want from the bike this year. Half an hour of conversation before we touch a single bolt.

Phase 02

Anatomical and anthropometric assessment

Hip mobility, lumbar flexion, hamstring length, leg length discrepancy and body measurements. Before you can understand the bike you have to understand the body getting on it.

Phase 03

Cleat fitting

The contact point that causes the most problems and the one almost nobody checks. Fore-aft, rotation and stance width, with the foot watched in movement.

Phase 04

3D saddle and pressure analysis

Pressure mapping with Velometrik: where you actually sit, how much load goes to each sit bone and which saddle suits you. Measured before and after every change.

Phase 05

Real-time 3D kinematic analysis

With STT Systems we measure joint angles while you pedal at your own cadence. We test solutions and compare the numbers until we find the best one.

Phase 06

Technical report and advice

Every measurement in writing, the pressure map captures, component recommendations and the Enjoyment Index we close the session with.

Adjust Measure Did the number improve? before and after yes no discard it and try another It stays

The rule that runs through all of it

Every change is measured before and after, in front of you. If an adjustment does not improve the number, it does not stay. It sounds obvious, and it is what separates a fit from a well-argued opinion.

It also means that sometimes the conclusion is that your position was already right. That happens, and we will tell you.

We close every fit with an Enjoyment Index, and we measure it again at the readjustment, to know whether the change really worked.

What we do

What the method commits to

  • We start by asking what hurts, not how many watts you push.
  • No change stays if the measurement does not back it up.
  • If your mobility does not allow a position, we do not take you there.
  • The fit ends when the position is resolved, not when the hour is up.
What we do not

What the method rules out

  • Copying the position of a rider who trains twenty-five hours a week.
  • Formulas based on your inseam alone.
  • Selling you components you do not need.

Measured, not guessed

Tell us what happens on the bike and we will tell you whether a fit resolves it before you book anything.
